I only "became an artist" — began drawing and painting — in my 60s. Before that, my artistic nature found its outlet in writing, photography, cooking, drumming, and English teaching, among other pursuits. My artistic style is intuitive, reflecting a life of balanced asymmetry, stubborn independence, and sometimes contradictory provocation. Lively colors meet subdued fields as I revel in the freedom of unlimited shapes, colors, collage elements and texturing tools.
